  At dawn, the family and the entire SAR unit all walked the "FOD"  ( Foreign Object Detection ) - picking up pieces of debris from the flight apron, returned to the lone helicopter on the apron, Evan gave a short speech, the CO gave a short  speech, Evan had to renew his oath of office and then became a Commander.
